DevOps Engineer

INT seeks a talented, driven DevOps engineer to join a diverse, global team of developers building complex software (applications, platforms, and libraries) for most of the world’s largest upstream oil and gas companies. Self-driven and intrinsically motivated, you’ll work alongside the team to efficiently deploy and operate INT software with our global clients and partners. In this role, you’ll help automate and streamline our deployment operations and processes; build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations; and troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test, and production environments.

Education/Experience:
Successful candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in software development and operations, and 2+ years of cloud experience. They will have hands-on experience installing and managing current Linux server distributions, including networking, user management, and device installation/configuration for common industry distributions (RHEL7/CentOS7/Ubuntu 18.04 LTS).

Core Skills (Required):

    • Great understanding of how to use POSIX/GNU core utils (1)
    • Experience developing and maintaining bourne and bash Shell scripts
    • Close familiarity with:
      • Docker and Docker-compose
      • Installing and configuring TLS
      • NGINX configuration (using it as a reverse proxy)

 

  • Ability to:
    • Troubleshoot complex microservice deployments
    • Configure/install Node.js applications (bonus)
    • Use Jenkins build tasks to push deployments to servers

 

 

  • Cloud experience:
    • Troubleshoot and configure firewall rules in cloud services and at Linux level
    • Spin up AWS, Azure, and Google compute instances
    • Configure cloud provider permissions (e.g., AWS IAM) (required) and cloud provider load balancers (preferred)
  • Familiar with Kubernetes variants (e.g., AWS EKS) (preferred)

 

 

Preferred Skills/Certifications:

  • Experience in monitoring and analytics platforms (ELK and Filebeats)
  • 3+ years experience

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Primary programming tools–platform is Java
  • Relational database administration (Oracle, PostgreSQL, Mongo)
  • AWS certifications and/or formal experience
