The
Challenge
Elf, one of the world’s top 10 oil refining and marketing companies,
required a more powerful seismic interpretation viewer. Its current viewer displayed
data in 2D which limited seismic interpretation.
The
INT Solution
After evaluating INT’s 3D graphics toolkit, J/View3D, Elf
chose INT’s Professional Services consulting team to develop the new application,
Cluster3D. The goal of Cluster3D was to visualize and analyze the correlation
between different seismic data attributes and, based on this analysis, determine
and build a classification of these points.
The
Results
The clusters and their hierarchies were built with Cluster3D. Because
Cluster3D was based on Java 3D, Elf's customers benefited from the ease of use
and cross platform functionality of Java.
