Conoco Contracts INT to Update Front-end Architecture of Complex Legacy Application

Conoco, Inc., involved in the oil and gas industry for over 124 years, is a major, integrated energy company active in more than 40 countries

The Challenge 
Conoco approached INT about its existing seismic processing system. Conoco needed its front end architecture overhauled and updated. The new system needed to provide the users of the system with a modern GUI look and feel while maintaining access to the existing Fortran code base of trap routines and processing modules. The new system also needed to work across Conoco’s Intranet and on the Internet on a variety of machine types.

The INT Solution
INT’s Professional Services team approached the problem by combining Java, XML, and client/server technologies.

The Results
With INT's solution in place, a number of benefits resulted, namely cross-platform capabilities, language and machine independent content description, access to network based technologies, and access to a rich set of GUI functionality.
