Installation Instructions
J/View3DPro
enhances the capability of Java 3D in that it provides a rich and powerful environment
for development of graphical applications.
Designed
to integrate with Java and Swing architectures, J/View3DPro is the optimum solution
for building Internet enabled user interfaces and cross-platform graphics intensive
solutions for data visualization and analysis.
J/View3DPro
also provides an infrastructure for developing high-level components and can be
used to create industry specific components for scientific visualization and business
charting, process control, GIS applications, and financial data display.
System
Requirements
- Sufficient
Memory (Recommended 256 megabytes of RAM or more)
- Machine
that supports Java 2 and Java 3D

Distribution
The J/View3DPro distribution comes as an InstallAnywhere installation
file. The installation file is Java based and installs in any environment
with the Java 5.* VM installed. Install file name is jview3d_install.jar.
Installation
Procedures
To
install your copy of J/View3DPro:
- Open
a dos/unix shell.
- Verify
that you have read/write permissions for the directory in which you wish to install
J/View3DPro.
- Change
current directory to the directory where the install file is stored.
- Execute
the following command: java -jar jview3d_install.jar.
- Follow
all instructions.
Building
Tutorials and Demos
After
you have installed all the packages in the distribution, we invite you to read
the J/View3D.html file in the distribution folder/directory. After, please refer
to index.html file located in the docs directory for instructions on how to build
the tutorials, examples, and demos.
