INT Incorporates Support for Trolltech's Qt into GeoToolkit 3.0

Houston, TX (September 18, 2003): Interactive Network Technologies, Inc. (INT), a leading developer of high performance graphics components, announced availability of GeoToolkit 3.0, a suite of visualization components specifically designed for the upstream oil and gas industry. The new release of GeoToolkit features a number of enhancements including extensive support for the Qt cross-platform application development framework and an improved contouring package.

GeoToolkit is a C++ based library of components that permits fast-track development of oil and gas applications. Providing capabilities to display seismic data, logs, basemaps, contours and XY-plots, this bundled package promotes reusability and consistency across applications and allows developers to focus on their core technologies rather than spend time writing data displays.

With support for Qt, the cross-platform application development environment from Trolltech, GeoToolkit allows companies to more easily develop a single application compatible with both Unix and Windows environments. The Qt C++ application development framework allows for easy porting between supported platforms (Qt runs natively on Linux/Unix, Windows and Mac OS X) and also leverages existing applications while reducing maintenance costs and development time for multiple platforms.

"The complementary technologies of INT and Trolltech can be applied to create cost-saving and time-saving solutions for our clients," said Paul Schatz, vice president of business development for INT. "Employing Trolltech's portable GUI concept in conjunction with INT's reusable components frees company resources to focus on projects that contribute directly to the company's bottom line. Collaborating with Trolltech was a natural progression for INT."

GeoToolkit support for Qt includes integration with Qt Designer; development of high-level XY-Plot, Seismic, WellLog and Contour widgets; cross-platform printing capabilities; and a native Carnac driver for Qt. GeoToolkit 3.0 also offers enhancements to its contour component including improved performance, increased control over fault precision, and innovative contour demonstrations.
