ICS Becomes Motif Development Leader With Addition of New Widgets - Now Offers Most Complete Widget and GUI Builder Product Line

CAMBRIDGE, MA (May 27, 1997): Integrated Computer Solution (ICS), the leading supplier of visual development tools for professionals, today announced that it is extending its leadership and becoming the dominant supplier of Motif reusable components by adding two popular Motif widgets to its comprehensive offerings. The addition of the new widgets -- EditTable and Chart Object-- also reaffirms ICS's commitment to continue to support business-critical Motif development in organizations.

The new ICS Motif widget offerings were developed and formally distributed directly by Interactive Network Technologies, Inc. (INT), which specializes in the development of high-performance graphical software tools and components for the X/Motif and PC Windows markets.; EditTable is the industry's fastest and most flexible table object, while ChartObject is the industry's most complete and flexible 2D and 3D Motif widget charting library. The agreement by the two companies makes ICS the exclusive distributor of these INT widgets and results in ICS becoming the most comprehensive Motif solutions provider to the market today.

Peter Winston, ICS President said, "ICS wants to let the industry know that while some of our competitors are phasing out Motif tools and leaving their customers with dead end products, we remain committed to providing developers with the best Motif offerings in the industry. By securing the popular INT Motif widgets and adding them to our product line, we uphold our promise to enterprise developers that ICS will be the guaranteed source for all the high-quality Motif tools they continue to need and want, while at the same time assisting these developers to move in the strategic direction of the web."

"We are excited that ICS has decided to include our Motif products within their product family," said Olivier Lhemann, President of INT.; "ICS's business model of a direct field sales and support team complemented with training and consulting is just what customers with business critical applications need to be successful.; INT will continue to evolve the EditTable and ChartObject products while developing the next generation in high-performance graphics tools and components."

In a related action that supports Motif development while helping the industry move towards Internet computing, ICS and SCO recently announced a strategic partnership by which the two companies will work together to enhance SCO Premier Motif's position as the highest quality, cross-platform implementation of Motif in the industry.; As part of that agreement, ICS will become a business partner and technology center for SCO's Tarantella technology that allows Motif and other applications to be deployed on the Web without coding changes.

ICS is also helping organizations migrate towards Java™-based development by providing a family of products and services that address both their current requirements as well as their future needs in the Java area. ICS's BX Pro, announced last year, is the first cross-platform visual reuse environment that supports both C/C++ and Java development. Other Java activity includes ICS's move into Java training and into consulting to help Fortune 500 companies implement Java-based intranet solutions.
