INT Upgrades Java 3D Technology with J/View3DPro 2.0

Houston, TX (March 16, 2001): Interactive Network Technologies, Inc. (INT), a leading developer of high performance graphics components, announced availability of J/View3DPro 2.0, its graphics toolkit based on Java 3D that allows programmers to visualize, manipulate, annotate, and edit complex 3D scenes.

Requiring no previous Java 3D or DirectX/OpenGL™ programming experience, J/View3DPro simplifies the task of creating sophisticated interactive data visualizations. J/View3DPro offers a higher-level API that is more intuitive than Java 3D or OpenGL, allowing developers to concentrate on their data and more easily map it to the high-level shapes provided within the toolkit.

J/View3DPro 2.0 boasts significant performance enhancements, including new file loaders for easier manipulation of 3D object and 3D studio files, texture mapping and viewer background editors, and improved axis performance.

Additional features include:

  • Material editing package - provides support for editing material of the selected object (including ambient, emissive, diffuse, specular and shininess)
  • Light editing package - supplies all light color and ambient light control
  • Axis editing package - offers advanced editing of grid lines (on/off, color, width, pattern), annotation font size, color, and number of ticks on the axis

A free 30-day evaluation of J/View3DPro 2.0 is now available on all platforms that support JDK 1.3 and Java 3D 1.2.1. For more information, visit www.int.com.
