Version
1.1 of Carnac Brings SDKs to the Graphics Toolkit for C++ and Java Developers
SAN
FRANCISCO, CA (April 2, 1997) Interactive Network Technologies, Inc. (INT)
announced today the release of version 1.1 of its powerful 2-D graphics Toolkit,
Carnac. This new release can be seen at booth 2439 at the SD'97 exhibition, where
demonstrations of mapping applications that manipulate millions of objects and
Java integration can be seen, bringing about the next generation the high-performance
core technology.
This new release brings additional support to
this already powerful 2-D graphics core technology. First, two Software Developers
Kits (SDKs) have been added to the toolkit- the Flavors SDK and Dynamic Scenes
SDK. A key feature of the core toolkit is its extensibility, which allows developers
to tailor the product to their exact requirements; these SDKs help developers
in this process. The Flavors SDK simplifies the production of User Defined Primitives
(complex shapes), while the Dynamic Scenes SDK assists with producing the code
for the generation of dynamic scenes on the fly. Second, support for 1,8 and 24-bit
rotatable, shearable and scalable images with full transparency control has been
added. This extends the number of classes of objects that can be manipulated and
displayed either statically or dynamically with real-time movie type performance
available. Finally, a CGM output option has been added to the existing options,
which already include support for a wide range of printers and postscript format.
Carnac
Carnac is a core technology providing a powerful
2-D graphics toolkit bringing the next generation in high-performance, cross-platform
and multi-source graphics. No longer do developers need to work with a low-level
API to get the performance or functionality they require. Using the same source
code across platforms without compromise, Carnac is able to handle millions of
objects with distributed spatial relationships and different graphical types efficiently.
Combining this functionality with high-speed rendering, extensibility and scalability
means that Carnac is able to meet the needs of the most demanding and object intensive
graphical applications.
Availability
Carnac
is available for Windows 95, Windows NT and most common UNIX/X Window implementations.
INT also provides a full support package including a product update service with
technical support hotline as well as offering training for all its products.
