OpenSpirit
and INT Collaborate to Develop Well and Section Viewers
Houston, TX
(January 18, 2001): Interactive Network Technologies, Inc. (INT)
has entered into an agreement with OpenSpirit Corp. to provide Java-based
well and section viewers as part of the OpenSpirit Application Integration
Framework. The data viewers will be fully integrated, providing interaction
with OpenSpirit business objects and services. Source code for the viewers
will be distributed as part of the standard OpenSpirit developer's kit
release.
"The
OpenSpirit Application Integration Framework is a vendor-neutral, platform-independent
framework which allows E&P applications to dynamically share data and events across
heterogeneous data stores," said Clay Harter, Director of Technology and Business
Development, OpenSpirit. "Being able to include the well and section viewers,
along with its source code, as part of our system will provide customers with
more tools and examples to help them develop integrated applications easily and
quickly."
"E&P
companies know that effective management and utilization of information is critical
to their competitive success," said Paul Schatz, Vice President Business Development,
INT. "OpenSpirit's products and services enable multi-vendor application and data
interoperability while INT is committed to providing best-in-class solutions for
data visualization over networks and the Internet. Our products fit together nicely."
The well viewer
and section viewer are built upon components of INT's J/GeoToolkit, which delivers
high performance graphics capabilities for E&P applications and allows developers
to create sophisticated data visualization software while taking advantage of
the ease-of-use and platform independence of Java. OpenSpirit developers and licensees
will be able to use the well and section viewers as they are, as simple utilities,
or as templates for other applications.
