Widgets from INT Bring More Performance and Features for E&P Software
Developers
HOUSTON, Texas
(October 28, 1997): Interactive Network Technologies, Inc. (INT)
is pleased to announce updates to its "industry standard" widget libraries,
Geoscience Library Release 3.3 and View3D Release 2.0. Both the Geoscience
and View3D widget libraries have a strong following and these releases
introduce enhancements that will interest developers of data visualization
applications in the E&P. In addition, View3D is useful in other
imaging and data visualization areas.
The Geoscience
Library R3.3 has seen enhancements in the Seismic Widget, including the ability
to supply a color pixel array for each sample of a specified trace, provide greater
fill control, and additional header access functions. Greater performance for
the SEGY widget has been achieved through the addition of Unix memory mapping.
Also, additional formatting functions have been added to the contour widget.
View3D R2.0 has seen some major additions, including a new Volumetic object
that is used to visualize 3D arrays of sample data. This type of visualization
is very useful in medical imaging and scientific visualization applications. A
new built-in editor has been introduced, which will allow clipping in up to six
planes.
Also included in this release is additional support for
TIFF image files, which when coupled with a movie player function, allow TIFF
files to be added to movie files. Furthermore, some memory constraints have been
removed, in order to handle data sets larger than physical memory.
Both View3D and the Geoscience library are powerful tools, designed to ease the
development of graphical applications in the UNIX/Motif® environment.

These widgets are now shipping and are available
